Much Woolton Catholic Primary School

Home Learning

As this academic year progresses, school will experience times when some year groups or individuals are isolating at home because of COVID.

In line with government guidance, we have formulated our remote learning offer using Google Classroom. A guide for how this is to be used can be viewed below.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is only used for homework and for those in isolation because of a positive test within their family . Staff will not be uploading learning to the Classroom for any families choosing to keep children off from school.

We may also use Classroom for meetings with families when face to face meetings are not possible.

Please do not use the Classroom facility to contact your class teacher unless your child is in isolation.

There are also resources, published by the government and School Improvement Liverpool here.
You can also download here contact numbers for support teams if your child has special needs, ASD, speech and language needs or is struggling emotionally and you want further guidance on how to support them at home.
The following sites will also support home learning:

Joe Wicks PE Classes  Joe Wicks will be providing daily workouts for children.

Khan Academy

Especially good for maths and computing for all ages but other subjects at Secondary level. Note this uses the U.S. grade system but it’s mostly common material.

BBC Learning

This site is old and no longer updated and yet there’s so much still available, from language learning to BBC Bitesize for revision. No TV licence required except for content on BBC iPlayer.

Free to access 100s of courses, only pay to upgrade if you need a certificate in your name (own account from age 14+ but younger learners can use a parent account).

For those revising at GCSE or A level. Tons of free revision content. Paid access to higher level material.

Free taster courses aimed at those considering Open University but everyone can access it. Adult level, but some e.g. nature and environment courses could well be of interest to young people.
