Modern Foreign Languages

In our school, we study Spanish as part of our curriculum. Children receive 30 minute lessons on spoken language and vocabulary weekly. These lessons are delivered by class teachers or specialist teachers from School Improvement Liverpool. Attached are the relevant learning plans for this subject in our school.

We celebrate Spain and all things Spanish with an annual Spanish week where our children dress in colours associated with Spain and sometimes even traditional Spanish costume. We take part in a variety of activities which include: trying Spanish food, listening to music and learning more about the heritage of Spain.

How is MFL a sacred subject
The sacred endeavour of Modern Foreign Languages enables pupils to appreciate and learn from the diversity and richness of other cultures. MFL provides a unique opportunity to bring about communication, inclusion, reconciliation, peace and understanding and the beauty of diversity and unity of all God’s family.
